Site which leaked Reliance Jio customer data gets suspended, telco claims data is "safe"In yet another episode of a data breach, a website called magicapk has leaked details of Reliance Jio users. The website was providing details like first and last name, e-mail id, mobile number, date of SIM card activation and which circle it was activated.

The website however went down within hours, with an error page that says “Resource limit has been reached” displayed on the site homepage, indicating that it ran out of bandwidth and the account was suspended by the hosting provider. There are no details of the owner of the domain as yet since the whois information of the domain is hidden.

At the time when the site was active, ETtech had checked the authenticity of the website by using different Jio numbers and showed data related to the concerned person except in certain cases when we had to refresh the page numerous times to get the required data associated with a number.

Also, when we tried pulling out data with certain other Jio numbers, the website did not turn up any results. Interestingly, the website even claims to give out Aadhaar details but in all the numbers that we searched for, it did not show any results.
