Guindy National park is one of the smallest National parks in the world, which is on 9th position; the beautiful park is stated in Tamil Nadu state, district Chennai. Guindy National Park
In past during British Rule, the park area called Guindy Lodge, which was built by Governor William in 1672, when the Governor died, the Tamil Nadu Government purchased the land area in 1821, many times the area was declared as various department of government and other institutions and memorials. In 1910 the forest is declared as reserved forests. The Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru distributes a portion of forest park as a park for kids, and handed over it to park department in 1958. In the year of 1976 the Guindy National park was established. The park covers 2.82km2 of area. In late 1980 IIT Madras campus and Raj Bhawan were adjacent to this park. Now the Guindy Children Park and Chennai Snake Park are the part of Guindy Park. Both park are stated in same campus but entrance is different. The center of attraction is spotted deer which are freely roaming around the national park.

Guindy National Park Timings
Park remains open between 9.00am to 5.30pm, it remains open for whole week expect Tuesday. The duration of visiting the park is 2-3 hours.
Snake Park – 9.00am to 5.30pm
Children’s Park – 9.00am to 6.00pm

By Air-Chennai International Airport is the nearest airport from Guindy National Park, just 8km away from National park. The airport is well connected with roads.
By Rail-Guindy Railway station is the nearest railway station from national park, just 1km away from park, the railway station is also well connected with roads and other major cities. So there will no trouble for any tourist while travelling in train.

Also migratory birds like Teals, medium egrets, Pond herons, open billed storks, pochards, and night billed storks etc.
