NEW DELHI: Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting M Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday said that “development, not politics, should dominate news”, ANI reported
“Development should be the news and should be the nucleus of our entire story,” Naidu said while addressing a Conference of Heads of Regional News Units in New Delhi.
“Politics should not dominate the news,” he added.
Even in its political strategy, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) believes development as a key to win votes and reap rich dividends in the elections.
Soon after becoming 14th Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi too had asserted that party leadership should focus on development and governance.
“We were elected on the plank of development and governance and we should stay focused on it. No deviation or dilution is acceptable. Even I cannot move away from this if wish to,” PM Modi had said while addressing party workers on December 17, 2014.
